Finally after 14 months, Brampton Hut NMU crossing is open. 💕 @camcycle @HuntsPostDebbie https://t.co/o8o9eDLXYM

Pretty minor ford in Hilton with reminder for cyclists to dismount.

The A1307, formerly the A14

Could we design safer cycling routes in #Huntingdonshire? Poor effort here at #AlconburyWeald https://t.co/pzqr2irsQe

Quiet rural road on NCN 12 heading towards Huntingdon

Quiet road

The old road runs parallel to the new and is really quiet.

Ermine Street, Huntingdon - apparently also NCN12.

Where I'm standing is a shared use footway, but these ones are not. The crap shared use in this area is breeding footway cycling. Note also motor vehicle storage on the grass verges.

Where I'm standing is a shared use footway. On the other side of the road it is not for cycling - but the lady has just ridden along the footway there and into the road. She crosses the road and joins the footway there.

Desborough Road, Huntingdon (it doesn't go to Desborough which is about another twenty miles away)

Road narrowing and cycle bypass on the main road into the Love's Farm development

Almost traffic-free back lane from Waresley to St Neots - it's well known to local cyclists, but couldn't it be signed as a cycle route?

Nice collection of cycling themed photos on this BBC page, including one at Holme Crossing http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/in-pictures-28326139

Caxton Road

The Grove is a handy cut-off avoiding the main road junction - but its loose surface seems designed to keep cyclists away.

There's a contraflow cycle-lane in the mid-distance, but it's not clear if there's a legal way to get there.

Ermine Street

Godmanchester - A14 crosses in the distance.

Horrendous, horrible traffic in the rush hour along a thoughoughly pedestrian hostile ring road with large sweeping access lanes for motorists.

Right turn only onto ring road.

A dreary road in central Huntingdon.

Elephants feet style markings on the road - there is confusion about what they mean. There's a drawing number WBM (R) 294 on the last page at: http://assets.dft.gov.uk/trafficauths/case-4103.pdf which explains they are 400mm square ... [more]
